How does this all work? What makes us Ethical?

We've been delivering ethical and organic products since 2005

In 2005, a group of us grew tired of travelling the Peninsula and beyond to buy the best quality, best-priced authentic produce. We got together and decided to get it brought to us.

Now, our offering is available countrywide. We offer fresh organic fruit, vegetables and dairy in Cape Town, and, countrywide, a wide range of products that meet our high standards, such as herbs and spices, body products, seeds and paints. Products that we use every day on ourselves and our children because we can't find anything better for us, and the broader community. Our range is growing all the time, and if you know of a product that you think beats what we have on offer (healthier, produced more sustainably, and produced closer to home), please let us know about it.

How The Ethical Co-op Works

  1. Register with your email and contact details.
  2. Login and order
  3. Pay into our bank account.
  • We send you regular newsletters with the latest green and nutritional information (you can opt out at anytime).
  • Cape Town customers have until Tuesday 14h00 to place an order (and can change the order right up until the closing time), while the rest of South Africa can order anytime, for delivery by courier.
  • We are closed for Cape Town orders for a short period on Tuesday after the 14h00 cutoff time.
  • Once you've ordered, pay into our bank account, and you'll get your box delivered to your door, or a nearby collection point.
  • Cape Town deliveries are made on Thursday during the day, while upcountry deliveries on the couriers schedule.

See a list of our collection points here.

A delivery confirmation is sent out after deliveries have been completed; you're only charged for what you receive. Sometimes you won't get what you ordered. The fields could be flooded, the goats escape, the truck overturn, or we simply make a mistake. We'll do our best to inform you in advance, and you will be credited for what you don't get.

We try to use as little packaging as possible, and what we do, we like to re-use and recycle. The Camphill 1l milk and yoghurts are supplied in glass bottles and we appreciate receiving these and our cardboard boxes back for re-use.

We aim to be as transparent as possible, and want you to know as much as possible about the produce. Where does it come from, which farm, what are the organic certification details? We ask these questions, and we hope you will too.

If you have any queries, please contact us.
